Souza & Souza Construction, Inc. was established in 1988 as a general contractor. We specialize in commercial contracting: new construction, remodel and renovation for restaurants, casual dining, rebranding, fueling stations, car washes convenience stores, shopping centers, satellite wagering facilities, medical research facilities and vivariums. We continue to provide outstanding services to Jack in the Box, Corner Bakery Café, 7-11, Chili’s, Del Taco, Home Town Buffet, Pat & Oscars, El Pollo Loco, Godfathers Pizza, Sammy’s Woodfire Pizza, ARCO AM/PM, Yum Brands, Epic Wings N'Things, medical research facilities and many others. Our success as a general contractor is due in large to our professional client relationships, subcontractors and management team.

Daniel P. Souza, Owner and President, began his construction career over 30 years ago traveling throughout California and Nevada working on a wide variety of construction projects. He is well versed in all phases of construction from ground break to finish and has worked hard to establish a strong reputation of quality and timeliness. Dan is very involved in daily business operations as well as overseeing field operations on all projects. His personal involvement with the business is what sets Souza & Souza Construction, Inc. apart from the rest.

Our Management Team

Daniel P. Souza, President and CEO

Daniel has been in the construction industry for over 30 years and holds contractor licenses in California, Arizona, Nevada and Hawaii. He is experienced in all phases of construction for new construction, remodeling, fuel stations, restaurants, residential, commercial projects and shopping centers. Daniel has a great rapport with all of his clients. He ensures the quality and timeliness of his projects by personally managing his team and subcontractors.

Michael Van Dyk, Project Manager

Michael has over 13 years experience in the construction industry. He currently manages projects from the San Diego office. Mike has a BA degree in Economics from San Diego State University, and has been with Souza & Souza Construction, Inc. since 2005.

Charles (Lee) Verba, Superintendent

Lee has over 20 years experience in new construction, remodeling, restaurants, residential and commercial projects in Southern California. He is currently managing throughout Southern California and Los Angeles County. Lee resides in San Diego and has been a superintendent with Souza & Souza Construction, Inc. since 2005.

Steven Walker, General Superintendent

Steven has over 35 years experience in new construction, remodeling, fuel stations, restaurants, residential and commercial projects in California, Nevada and Arizona. Steven has been a general superindendent with Souza & Souza Construction, Inc. for 20 years.

Ian Wright, Superintendent

Ian has over 20 years experience in tenant improvements restaurant remodeling and new construction in San Diego County. He is currently managing remodeling projects in San Diego County. Ian resides in San Diego and has been a superintendent with Souza & Souza Construction, Inc. for 15 years.

Robert (Bobby) Ferguson

Bobby has over 10 years experience in tenant improvements, restaurant remodeling and new construction. He is currently managing restaurant conversions and tenant improvement projects in San Diego County, and resides in San Diego.
